This Privacy Policy explains how Pyntree Technologies collects, uses, and protects information when you install or use the HiX - Product Specification Highlights app (the "App") on your Shopify store.
By installing and using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
When you install and use HiX, we access and/or store certain information from your Shopify store to provide the app's functionality.
1.1 Shopify Store Information
When you install the App, we receive the following from Shopify:
- Store name and store domain
- Store owner name and email address
- Shopify store ID and plan details
- Access token / API credentials necessary to interact with your store (stored securely)
We use this to connect the App to your store and identify your account.
1.2 Store Data Used by the App
To provide product specification highlights and related features, the App may access:
- Products and product variants
- Product titles, descriptions, images, pricing, and related metadata
- Collections and product associations
We do not use this data outside of providing and improving the App's services.
1.3 App Configuration & Content
Within HiX, you may create and manage:
- Custom fields (e.g., material, features, size, specifications, care instructions, etc.)
- Categories (e.g., Sarees, Shirts, Electronics, etc.)
- Product-to-field assignments and highlight configurations
We store this configuration data so the App can display and manage highlights on your storefront.
1.4 Customer Data
HiX is designed to work primarily with store and product data, not customer personal data.
We do not intentionally collect or store your customers personal information such as names, addresses, or payment details. Any customer data processing is handled by Shopify and is subject to Shopify's own privacy policy.
2. How We Use the Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App
- Display product specification highlights on your storefront
- Allow you to configure fields, categories, and product associations
- Improve the App's performance, usability, and reliability
- Communicate with you about support, updates, or important notices
- Monitor for abuse, debugging, and security purposes
We do not sell your data or your store data to third parties.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We may share information only in the following situations:
- With service providers who help us host, store, or process data. These trusted partners may include hosting services or logging/monitoring tools. They are permitted to use your information solely to support our App and must keep it secure.
- To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or valid governmental requests.
- To protect our rights, enforce our terms, or investigate fraud, security concerns, or potential misuse.
We do not share your store's data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
When a merchant uninstalls the HiX app from their Shopify store, we immediately remove all store-specific data, including:
- Store identifiers and access tokens
- All custom fields created within the app
- All categories and product associations
- All highlight values and configurations
- Any other data stored specifically for that merchant
We do not retain or back up any merchant-specific data after the app is uninstalled.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to help protect your data, including:
- Secure storage of access tokens
- Restricted internal access to production systems
- Use of HTTPS and encrypted connections where applicable
While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we take commercially reasonable steps to safeguard your information.
6. Third-Party Services
HiX operates on the Shopify platform and may integrate with additional third-party tools or services.
Your use of Shopify is subject to Shopify's own terms and privacy policy. We encourage you to review Shopify's privacy policy to understand how they manage store and customer data.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. When updates are made, the “Last Updated” date at the top of the page will be modified accordingly.
If any changes are significant, we may also notify you through email or within the App. Continuing to use the App after updates are published means you accept the revised policy.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not designed for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
If you believe that a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.
